You get PSiRA Status provisionally rejected or Re-take because of  a possible criminal record or pending investigations, your fingerprints submitted were of poor quality (, a pending case or a case awaiting trial in which case you have to submit court documents  within a period of 90 days.

Appeals are handled by the Minister’s office, It will also depend on the availability of the members of the Appeals Committee; the minimum time for response can be a month depending on the complexity of the matter.

PSIRA stands for the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority. It is a statutory body established by the Private Security Industry Regulation Act 56 of 2001. PSIRA is responsible for regulating the private security industry in South Africa.

PSIRA’s mandate is to:

  • Promote the professionalization of the private security industry
  • Protect the public from unqualified and unprofessional security service providers
  • Ensure that security service providers comply with the law and regulations
