R350 SRD payment dates for 2023/2024

R350 SRD payment dates for 2023/2024

For South African recipients of the R350 Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant, it’s now possible to access the payment dates for the remaining months of the 2023/2024 financial year. The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has officially disclosed the payout schedule for each month in a recent Facebook post made on August 25.

Here’s a breakdown of the R350 SRD payment dates for the 2023/2024 financial year:

  • August 2023: From August 25, 2023, to August 31, 2023.
  • September 2023: From September 22, 2023, to September 29, 2023.
  • October 2023: From October 25, 2023, to October 31, 2023.
  • November 2023: From November 24, 2023, to November 30, 2023.
  • December 2023: From December 18, 2023, to December 22, 2023.
  • January 2024: From January 25, 2024, to January 31, 2024.
  • February 2024: From February 23, 2024, to February 29, 2024.
  • March 2024: From March 25, 2024, to March 29, 2024.

SASSA has advised R350 grant recipients to regularly check their status on the SRD website during the pay week to determine the precise date when their payments will appear in their bank accounts. However, it’s important to note that funds may take approximately two to three working days to reflect in the accounts. Consequently, the actual payment dates may slightly differ from those listed on the website.

The announcement from SASSA provides greater clarity and predictability for grant recipients, allowing them to plan accordingly for the arrival of their monthly grants.

If your status on the website displays as “pending,” it indicates that the verification of your application for that particular month is still in progress. In this case, you should revisit the website later for updates.

The future of the grant beyond March 2024 remains uncertain. In July, Social Development Minister Lindiwe Zulu informed Parliament that her department is considering petitioning Cabinet for a two-year extension. This extension would offer the government the necessary time to craft and pass legislative amendments for the establishment of a permanent basic income grant.
